Firespike (Odontonema strictum)
Firespikes best features are not only producing showy red flowers and the hummingbirds enjoy them! blooms from early in the season until the first until your first frost.
Sunlight:
Plant Firespike in a location with partial to full sunlight. It can tolerate some shade but generally prefers well-lit conditions.
Soil:
Provide well-draining, fertile soil. Firespike grows well in various soil types but thrives in rich, loamy soil.
Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist. Firespike appreciates regular watering, especially during dry periods. Mulching around the base can help retain soil moisture.
Temperature:
Firespike is well-suited for tropical and subtropical climates. It is sensitive to frost, so protect it from cold temperatures.
